Packaging in 20 centimeter wide foil allows storage of instruments after sterilization for 3 months.
Required instruments for each patient are placed on the tray, packaged in foil and sealed using heat.
- sealed packages are placed in autoclave after sterlization each package is dated to control storage time
- narrower foils are used to store individual instruments for different procedures
- once the package is open ,all instruments are sterilized again , even if not used
